Terms & Conditions

1. Participation

  1. Eligible participants are limited to full time teachers working at a public, charter or private schools teaching in an academic or physical education setting for students from kindergarten to 12th grade in the United States ("Eligible Participants").
  2. Full time administrators, such as principals, assistant principals, and school district staff, are not eligible to participate.
  3. Participation is free of charge and all entries will be judged on a set of skill based criteria. Entries by Eligible Participants will be accepted through the "Apply Now" link on vionicshoes.com/giving-back/stepping-up-the-classroom provided or can be emailed directly to education@vionicgroup.com.
  4. Finalists and the winner, will be selected based on the creativity of their lesson plan, its potential for impacting students positively, and the ability for the lesson to be replicated by other educators.
  5. Documentation of lesson plan results is necessary. This may include but is not limited to photos, exemplary student work, and/or an objective set of criteria for measuring results.

2. Prizes & Fiscal Sponsors

  1. Five semi-finalists will receive $500 to use towards funding a test of their program. Finalists to be announced by April 9th 2018.
  2. One winner will be awarded an additional $5000 to roll out the approved program for the following school year. Winner to be announced August 31st 2018.
  3. Your budget must account for the full award amount ($500 and $5,000).
  4. Funds can be used for resource materials, supplies, equipment, transportation, technology, or scholarships. Although some funds may be used to support the professional development necessary to implement the project, the majority of prize funds should be spent on materials or educational experiences for students.
  5. You must designate a fiscal sponsor, be sure that you know and understand the organization’s procedures for dispersing funds. You must abide by these procedures and should feel comfortable working with their guidelines.
  6. A fiscal sponsor is an organization that agrees to accept and be responsible for prize funds on your behalf.
  7. Generally speaking, your school, school district, school board, development office, PTSA or local union may serve as a fiscal sponsor.
  8. A representative of the organization you designate as fiscal sponsor must sign the entry. This person must be authorized to represent and act in the name of the organization, specifically in the receipt, disbursement, and oversight of award monies.

3. Requirements & Deadlines

  1. The completed entry form and lesson plan template including student evaluation form found at VIONICshoes.com must be submitted at vionicshoes.com/giving-back/stepping-up-the-classroom or emailed to education@vionicgroup.com between January 22, 2018 â€“ March 30, 2018
  2. Finalists must submit completed program evaluation form available at vionicshoes.com/giving-back/stepping-up-the-classroom as well as student evaluation forms (as designed in your submitted lesson plan) and recordings of teaching moments in the form of student work, student or teacher testimonials, text, video or photography by May 31st 2018 to be eligible for final prize.
  3. In the event of a tie, the program deemed most likely to be successfully replicated by the judging panel will be awarded as winner.
  4. Participants agree that Vionic Group LLC may use the participants name, likeness, image, voice, and/or appearance as such may be embodied in any photos, video recordings, audiotapes, digital images, and the like, provide to us by the participant in videos, publications, advertisements, news releases, Web sites, and any promotional material in any medium. I acknowledge that I will not receive any compensation for the use of such images, video, likeness, etc. No information or likeness of students will be used without their permission.
