Earth Day 2023

Earth Day 2023 is almost here; a perfect time for us all to reflect on how we impact the planet we live on. Do you drive to work? Maybe use plastic water bottles? The reality is we all make an impact some way or another, but we feel that it is important to be aware of what we are doing and take steps to minimize whenever possible. Vionic is proud to use some materials that are made from recycled bottles, for example in our Miles sneaker and Kensley loafer, and others have more sustainable components. Below you can find out about some of these styles:

 

Groove

 

 

This is an eco-conscious slip-on sneaker with a classic look that is made with 20% recycled content with a canvas upper and a durable rubber outsole. It is available in women’s medium width 5, 6-10, 11 in the colors of Ballad Blue, Black, Semolina, Vapor, and White. On top of that, it is machine washable so you can clean them with ease!

 

Oasis

 

 

While Groove is a slip-on, Oasis is a lace-up variation. It is also made with 20% recycled content and is machine washable. Available in Black, Semolina, Vapor and White, this sneaker is offered in sizes 5, 6-10, and 11.

 

Upside

 

 

Upside is a stylized variation of Oasis; maintaining the machine washable feature, recycled content and sizing. It is available in Black and White in sizes 5, 6-10, 11.

-Consider driving less, instead walking or biking when possible 

-Educate yourself on the value and importance of our natural resources

-Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle when possible 

-Conserve water 

-If you eat seafood, choose sustainably caught or harvested 

-Use reusable bags 

-Change lightbulbs to energy efficient bulbs that reduce emissions 

-Make sure to turn off lights when they aren’t needed 

-Consider planting a tree to combat climate change 

-Use nontoxic chemicals around your home and office to prevent contamination in waterways
