MEET AARON HUTCHERSON

Hi! My name is Aaron Hutcherson (also known as @thehungryhutch). I am a chef, writer, and lover of all things food. I’ve loved to cook for about as long as I can remember. My passion for food is even greater than my love of sleep (which is saying a lot). I like to eat. I like to cook. I like to experiment. I like to share. I like you. TOMATO PEA HALLOUMI SALAD

This recipe is all about peak produce by highlighting ripe heirloom tomatoes and fresh peas. Pan-seared halloumi cheese and crunchy croutons help finish it off.

 

 

PREP TIME – 5 Minutes

COOK TIME – 5 minutes

TOTAL TIME – 10 Minutes

 

This recipe is mostly the result of trying to figure out how not to let my CSA box go to waste. That’s where the ripe heirloom tomato and fresh peas come in. I also happened to make some croutons for a work assignment the other day, which were a natural addition. Supper With Michelle also posted a salad not too long ago that prompted me to pick up some halloumi cheese on my most recent grocery run. And voila! In throwing those things together I came up with this beauty.

CINNAMON PEPPER RIB RUB

The warmth of cinnamon mingles playfully with various types of heat provided by different peppers to create a spice rub perfect for grilling or barbecuing ribs.

 

 

PREP TIME – 15 Minutes

COOK TIME – 1 Hour, 30 Minutes

TOTAL TIME – 1 Hour, 45 Minutes

 

I was able to escape from New York City for a bit during the midst of the pandemic to a place with outdoor space and, most importantly, a grill. Seeing as how I live in an apartment where my only outdoor space is my fire escape that I sometimes use as a “patio,” anytime I’m someplace with a grill I can’t help but make use of it. And this time that meant ribs—and a new recipe for y’all.
