We’ve all read about the negative effects of sitting for long periods of time. But on the other hand, if you stand for more than five hours a day, you could be at risk for a host of other issues.
A study conducted at ETH Zürich in Switzerland found that “occupational activities requiring prolonged standing are likely to contribute to lower-extremity and/or back disorders.” Maria-Gabriela Garcia, lead author of the study, makes some helpful recommendations to potentially alleviate these effects.
