Remember “travel”? We’d kind of forgotten about it too! Good news: Vacations are back (and more popular than ever) so let’s all start to get in the mood. Of course the world is vast with no shortage of exotic places to see. For reclaiming our “getaway grooves,” we’re not focusing on anywhere super far flung—not just yet. More closer-to-home, less global trek.
But first, wherever you’re headed, here’s an upfront fact any enthusiast knows: Travel really puts your feet to the test. Nothing pairs better with any holiday than comfortable shoes. Bonus points if they look great too. (We definitely have you covered with both!) Here are some types of holidays we’re thinking about taking now, paired with shoes packing style and support.
City Adventures
If perusing museums, restaurants, nightlife and embarking on scenic urban hikes is in your future, check out Vionic women’s and men’s sneakers as well as our chic yet comfortable flats. San Francisco—one of America’s most-visited cities—is a great location to flaunt your style and tackle the hilly terrain with support on your side. Be sure to work a sunny (and likely breezy) walk around Fisherman’s Wharf, the Golden Gate Bridge and Golden Gate Park into your itinerary.
For those who prefer the climate of Southern California, Los Angeles is the place to be. Explore Santa Monica, Malibu and Venice Beach for some seaside fun. Get your high-end shopping on in Beverly Hills, star-gaze in Hollywood and don’t forget Disneyland! Another SoCal destination is San Diego—which really epitomizes idyllic California living. A beautiful city, it offers a world-class zoo, beaches, fresh seafood dining and no shortage of outdoor activity.
Is the East Coast calling you? Then New York City, here we come! The Statue of Liberty, Central Park, Times Square, the Empire State Building and Broadway shows are all a must if it’s your first time in Manhattan. If you’re a little more experienced with getting around uptown, midtown, downtown (and don’t forget Brooklyn!), check out the multitude of galleries, museums, fine dining spots and comedy clubs that the Big Apple has to offer!
The Best Beaches
If a beach vacation is more your speed, pack your suitcase with cute, comfy sandals (options for men and women alike). Long Island, the Carolinas, Florida, Oregon Coast, Gulf Coast—America has no shortage of beautiful sandy options! Of course, some of the best beaches are in Hawaii. From the big island to Maui, Oahu to Kauai, each island lends its own special flavor, attractions and lifestyle. No matter which island you choose, you’re going to need a good book. And don’t forget the sunscreen!
For those who haven’t explored Mexico, Cabo San Lucas and Cancun are great destinations to dip your toes into Mexico’s warm clear waters. The food, fun and sun are all non-stop!
Marvelous Mountains
Calling all lovers of the great outdoors! Ladies and men, pick a go-to Vionic sneaker for your mountain expedition and get your steps in. Not sure where to start? Yosemite, Yellowstone and Lake Tahoe are all-time favorites. Pack up a tent, sleep under the stars or find a cozy cabin where you can get the best of both worlds.
